"Our family of five spent a week here in late October, and although we
have stayed at numerous high quality properties within the Charente
region we can honestly say this was the best ever. It felt more like a
home than a holiday home because of all the extra elements you
wouldn't necessarily expect - all mod cons in the huge kitchen, and a
generous supply of glasses, cutlery etc, a trunkful of videos (We
watched The Name of the Rose, Clueless, The Firm and The Usual
Suspects on successive nights),  broadband computer on the top floor, etc.
 

Our three children made great use of the grounds and the swimming
pool, even though it was not midsummer weather. We floated in the pool
rather than swam in it, but it was warm enough to sunbathe, and we
loved all the extras such as the table tennis. Highlight of the
holiday for two of our children was learning to ride on the bicycles provided.
 

We didn't even need to go to the seaside, although we could have
done. Instead we went to the market at Aulnay, and to the beautiful
city of Saintes, about half an hour's drive away. We plan to return..."
